What You'll Be Doing:

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative reporting solutions that facilitate data-driven decision-making across our organization. Your contributions will significantly impact our operational performance and strategic goals.

  • Design and develop robust BI reporting and data platforms.
  • Create engaging user-facing data visualization and reporting tools utilizing Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI dashboards, MicroStrategy, and Excel PivotTables.
  • Engage in comprehensive data retrieval and management efforts to support Evolent Health.
  • Align BI data assets with our organizational objectives to enhance operational performance.
  • Facilitate analytics practices that lead to improved decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing technology enhancements for continuous improvement of our core BI platform.
  • Conduct sophisticated data analysis using advanced SQL and Excel to meet internal and external data requests, driving business continuity and insights.
  • Work closely with non-technical business users to gather requirements for impactful reports and BI solutions.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance support for existing BI applications and reports.
  • Present your project work and partake in knowledge-sharing sessions with team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the BI/Data Warehouse domain, with a specialization in BI solutions and data analysis using MSBI suites.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including report building, dashboards, DAX, and Power Query (M).
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouses, Dataflows Gen2, Direct Lake capabilities, and PowerAutomate.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Services, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, or similar technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Advanced SQL abilities for data manipulation and performance tuning.
  • Experience implementing ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Able to work with both relational and cloud-based data sources.
  • Preferably, prior experience in the healthcare sector, especially regarding authorizations, claims, eligibility, and patient clinical data.
  • Knowledge of Python, Spark, or Databricks for data engineering or transformation tasks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/GitRepo for BI deployment is valued.

Technical Requirements:
