Business Intelligence Engineer (II), Fulfillment Optimization

When shopping on Amazon, customers care about price, selection, and fast, free delivery, and want to reduce the environmental footprint. The Promise team sets delivery expectations and optimizes packaging and fulfillment to achieve those goals.
Key Job Responsibilities Analyze data, develop analytics that surface signals from the fulfillment network to improve customer experience (e.g., ranking faster shipping products higher in Search results, messaging items that ship with items in a cart, promoting locally available offers). Develop dashboards and measurement across Promise platforms; evaluate inventory, fulfillment, and carrier capabilities. Collaborate with economists, research scientists, data engineers, product managers, and software developers to drive data‑driven decisions for Amazon’s retail and operations teams. Write and maintain scripts in Python or Scala; perform data mining, statistical analysis, and modeling. Build and maintain ETL pipelines, data modeling, warehousing, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Quicksight. Qualifications 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc. 1+ years of SQL, ETL, or Oracle experience. 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources. 1+ years of performing statistical analysis. 1+ years of developing automated reporting. Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools. Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines. Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, or Matlab. Experience using SQL and scripting (Python) to pull and process data. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift. Experience in data mining, ETL, and using databases in a business environment with large‑scale, complex datasets. Salary range: $99,500 - $160,000 USD annually (USA, WA, Bellevue). Additional sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) may be included.
