Business Intelligence Engineer II

Location: Bellevue, Washington (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to enhance and maintain existing reporting structures. This role will focus on improving data quality, standardizing metric calculations, and developing new dashboards and reporting capabilities. The position is project-oriented, supporting a transition to new GRC platforms and ensuring reporting continuity while establishing a stable, well-documented analytics layer for future use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance and maintain reporting within existing BI suites, including data quality reviews.
  • Standardize and document Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and metric calculations.
  • Develop new dashboards, trend analyses, and operational reports for leadership review.
  • Support the transition of data to new Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms.
  • Document queries, dashboard logic, and metric definitions.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and playbooks for future state operations.
  • Create an inventory and rationalization of current spreadsheets, datasets, and reports.
  • Maintain a stable, well-documented analytics layer for handover to future employees.

Required Qualifications

Citizenship: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong SQL skills for querying risk and compliance data from source systems and BI datasets.
  • Advanced spreadsheet modeling skills (e.g., Excel) for interim mechanisms, normalization, and scenario analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with BI platforms such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to design and implement repeatable dashboards, KPI/KRI views, and drill-down reports.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated pay range for this position is $45.00/hr to $55.00/hr. Please note that a final offer will be contingent on experience and qualifications. Our contractors are offered a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and sick leave.
