Director of Business Intelligence – Life Sciences

Our client is an internationally backed investment and innovation platform operating at the intersection of healthcare, life sciences, and technology. As part of its continued growth in Asia, the organisation is seeking to appoint a Director ofBusiness Intelligence to establish and lead a strategically important capability in Singapore.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an individual with a strong blend of life sciences domain knowledge, strategic insight, commercial judgement, and data-led decision-making capability. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and shaping a new intelligence hub designed to support investment activity, strengthen market understanding, and provide actionable insight across a broad healthcare and life sciences landscape.
The role will suit an individual who is comfortable operating across strategy, analytics, stakeholder engagement, and ecosystem development, and who brings a strong understanding of how data can inform investment decisions, identify growth opportunities, and support innovation-led businesses.
The appointed individual will lead the development of the hub’s vision, structure, and output, ensuring the delivery of high-quality intelligence across areas such as healthcare markets, clinical trends, commercial opportunity, and innovation activity. In parallel, they will act as a visible and credible representative within the Singapore and wider Asian ecosystem, building relationships with founders, startups, incubators, accelerators, and other key stakeholders.
This position also offers the opportunity to work closely with emerging companies, helping to provide strategic guidance and market insight that can support growth, positioning, and long-term value creation.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
Establishing and leading a new Business Intelligence unit in Singapore
Developing a strategic roadmap for the function and ensuring its successful execution
Delivering high-value market, clinical, scientific, and commercial insight to support investment activity
Overseeing the use of data analytics, AI, and automation to improve intelligence generation and decision-making
Supporting opportunity identification, market mapping, and strategic assessment across healthcare, biotech, and healthtech
Building and maintaining senior relationships across the Singapore and broader Asian innovation ecosystem
Contributing to the development of startups and partner organisations through insight-led support
The ideal candidate is likely to bring:
A degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Biology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Computer Science, or a related discipline; an advanced degree or MBA would be advantageous
Significant experience in venture capital, strategy consulting, investment banking, startup leadership, or a similarly strategic environment
Strong exposure to biotech, healthtech, healthcare, or broader life sciences
A proven track record in business intelligence, data analytics, or insight-led strategy
The ability to interpret complex scientific, clinical, and commercial information and translate it into clear strategic recommendations
Strong commercial acumen and credibility with senior stakeholders
A well-developed understanding of the Singapore and wider Asian startup and innovation ecosystem
The presence, maturity, and leadership skills required to build a new function and represent it externally
