Business Operations & Analytics Manager | C2 Group (Conekt2, Inc.) | San Diego, CA | $115,000 – $150,000 DOE | Full-time

We're a 150-person, women-owned strategic consulting and infrastructure technology firm serving utilities across the United States and Hawaii, including the largest investor-owned utilities in the West. We’ve inspected over a million utility structures, run enterprise drone programs at scale, and built our internal stack on LiDAR, GIS, predictive analytics, and AI-assisted workflows. Our growth has outpaced our reporting infrastructure, and we're hiring someone to fix that.

We’re not looking for a financial analyst. We’re looking for someone who can build the operating dashboard that tells our executive team, at any moment, exactly how the business is performing.

What you’ll own

You will design the data infrastructure and reporting cadence that provide our leadership team with a real-time picture of revenue, utilization, contract performance, and the pursuit pipeline across the portfolio. This role sits at the connective tissue between program and project operations, partnering with program managers, project managers, and service line leaders to align operational execution with business performance. You will not inherit a system. You will build one.

Specifically, you will:

  • Design and stand up an operations data layer that integrates project financials, time and billing, contract milestones, and pursuit pipeline into a single source of truth.
  • Build BI reporting (Power BI preferred) covering revenue forecasting, gross margin by service line, utilization and bench analysis, contract burn and recovery, and pursuit win-rate analytics.
  • Develop predictive models for revenue trajectory, resource demand, and pipeline conversion, and translate them into actionable recommendations for the executive team.
  • Partner with the COO, CFO function, and service line leaders to surface operational risks (margin compression, utilization drag, slipping receivables) before they become problems.
  • Establish the operating rhythm: weekly, monthly, quarterly, that turns reporting from a fire drill into a discipline.
  • Support pricing strategy, capacity planning, and pursuit prioritization with data-backed recommendations.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years in business operations analytics, FP&A, revenue operations, or PMO analytics, ideally in professional services, consulting, A/E/EPC, or utility-adjacent environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to design relational data models from scratch and stitch together data from disparate systems (ERP, CRM, time and billing, and project management). SQL fluency expected.
  • Strong Power BI or Tableau skills, DAX, semantic modeling, parameterized reporting, not just templated dashboards.
  • A working understanding of how a professional services firm actually makes money: utilization, realization, write-offs, work-in-process, contract types, and the operational levers behind each.
  • Executive communication skills. You will translate data into decisions for our leadership team, not produce reports that get filed.
  • Bias toward automation and systems thinking.

Bonus points

  • Experience with Quickbooks, Deltek Vantagepoint, Unanet, BST, or similar A/E project accounting platforms.
  • AI/LLM-assisted analytics workflows.
  • Python or R for forecasting and scenario modeling.
