We are looking for an experienced Business Risk Manager to join our Business Risk Management (BRM) team. The role sits in the First Line of Defense (FLoD) and is responsible for driving a strong risk culture, ensuring robust risk and control frameworks, and supporting Private Banking business activities across Asia
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk and control assessment for all aspects of risk within the FLoD, including effective oversight of the testing programme.
- Execute a risk-based control monitoring programme across the function, evidencing the adequacy and effectiveness of key controls.
- Perform regular business controls and monitoring on areas such as Investment Suitability, Cross Border, Anti-Fraud, etc., including management reporting and proactive recommendations.
- Conduct thematic reviews, investigations and gap analyses across FLoD activities.
- Participate in and/or lead projects and change initiatives to implement process and control enhancements.
- Promote a strong risk awareness and client fairness culture across the business.
- Collaborate closely with Second Line of Defense, Global Functions and other internal stakeholders to identify, assess and mitigate risks and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Proactively escalate and report issues, provide advice and challenge existing processes related to business activities.
- Manage the FLoD Risk Scorecard, ensuring proper tracking, execution and data integrity.
- Provide professional advice to front office staff on investment advisory activities to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and local regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships and credibility with key internal stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to junior team members and new joiners, and act as a checker to ensure quality and accuracy of reviews.Undertake any other duties within Business Risk Management as directed by the Head of Business Risk Management
Role Requirement
- 5+ years and solid business risk management experience in private banking / wealth management.
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and a high level of integrity and rule compliance.
- Ability to work independently, challenge the status quo and build strong stakeholder relationships
