Our client, a pioneering chemical manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled Chemical Process Engineer for their facility in Los Angeles, California, US . This role is crucial for optimizing existing chemical processes, developing new ones, and ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles and a passion for innovation.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for manufacturing and production. Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety measures. Monitor process performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions. Troubleshoot process issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency and yield. Scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial production. Develop and maintain process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards. Collaborate with R&D, operations, and maintenance teams to achieve project goals. Research and evaluate new technologies to improve process efficiency and product quality. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and recommendations for process improvements.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process engineering, preferably in manufacturing. Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics. Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) is required. Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance in the chemical industry. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in project management principles.
