Job Description

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Industry: Property Management (Multifamily Residential) Location: Atlanta base preferred (Dallas or Houston-based candidates would also be considered) Position Overview The HT Group has partnered with a growing, private equity-backed multi-family real estate platform based in Atlanta in the search for an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for an immediate need. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for building a scalable finance function, supporting mergers and acquisitions, and driving financial strategy to enable continued growth and value creation. This role partners closely with the CEO and investors and plays a critical role in shaping the company’s long-term success. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, providing financial insights to support growth, capital allocation, and value creation initiatives Participate in board meetings, strategic planning, and key business initiatives Build and lead a best-in-class finance organization, including systems, processes, and team development Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to growth, profitability, and operational performance Lead annual budgeting and long-range strategic planning processes Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, including the impact of acquisitions and integrations Oversee monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis, reforecasting, and executive-level presentations Ensure high-quality financial reporting across multiple operating units or locations Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Support due diligence and financial analysis of acquisition targets Lead post-acquisition integration efforts, including financial systems, reporting, controls, and processes Identify operational efficiencies and synergies across the platform Financial & Operational Management Oversee treasury, cash flow management, insurance, payroll, audit, tax, compliance, and risk management functions Manage relationships with external auditors, lenders, tax advisors, and other financial partners Lead annual audit and tax processes in coordination with external firms Oversee financial infrastructure to support scalability and operational efficiency Qualifications 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including CFO or senior finance roles Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (CPA and/or MBA preferred) Proven experience with mergers and acquisitions, including integration execution Experience in private equity-backed environments, particularly with acquisitive or roll-up strategies required Background in property management, real estate, or multi-location service-based businesses strongly preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
