About the role

Original posting from New Street Consulting Group (NSCG)

Interim Chief Risk Officer (SMF4) Location: London

Engagement: Interim

We are supporting a UK‑regulated bank with the appointment of an Interim Chief Risk Officer (SMF4) for an initial six‑month mandate, starting March .

This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned CRO who thrives in a smaller banking environment—someone who brings a calm, steady presence and can help uplift and embed proportionate, best‑in‑class risk management across the organisation. Proven experience as a Chief Risk Officer

Strong, demonstrable UK banking background

Ideally experienced within a smaller, foreign‑owned bank with a London branch

Ability to assess, strengthen, and operationalise risk frameworks in a practical, right‑sized way

Strengthen enterprise‑wide risk governance and oversight

Embed proportionate policies, controls, and reporting

Support cultural uplift and alignment across all risk disciplines

This is an excellent mandate for an experienced risk leader who enjoys delivering impact quickly and effectively in a focussed, flexible environment.
