We partner with ambitious companies across sectors to place experienced professionals in roles where they can have a real impact. On behalf of a client in our partner network, we are currently looking for a Commercial Strategy Manager to join their team.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is an FTSE 250 media and events business headquartered in London, operating across B2B publishing, data services, and live events in specialist markets. With revenues of £750m and a strategic shift underway from print and events to digital subscription and data products, the business is investing heavily in its commercial strategy function to drive profitable growth. The strategy team works at the centre of these transformation efforts, with direct access to the CEO and divisional Managing Directors.

THE ROLE

As Commercial Strategy Manager, you will lead strategic projects that directly shape how the business grows and allocates resources across its portfolio. From pricing architecture and product strategy to new market opportunities and customer economics, you will bring structured thinking and commercial instinct to the issues that matter most for the group's performance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead commercial strategy projects across pricing, portfolio management, customer segmentation, and revenue mix optimisation.
  • Build the analytical frameworks and business cases that support major commercial decisions by divisional and group leadership.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure strategic priorities are translated into commercial plans and tracked against outcomes.
  • Support the annual planning cycle with a commercially grounded view of growth opportunities and risks.
  • Develop insights on competitors, customers, and market trends to inform strategic positioning.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 4–7 years of experience in strategy consulting, commercial strategy, or a corporate planning role within a media, data, or technology business.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills, comfortable with customer economics, revenue modelling, and scenario analysis.
  • Clear and structured communicator; able to frame complex commercial issues for a senior executive audience.
  • Commercially curious and market-aware, keeping up with trends in digital media, data products, and B2B services.
  • Experience in subscription, data, or events businesses is an advantage.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base salary of £80,000 – £100,000, depending on experience.
  • Annual bonus with divisional and group performance components.
  • Share incentive plan and long-term incentive participation.
  • Private health cover, 27 days holiday, and hybrid working from London.
