About HorizonFlare

HorizonFlare is expanding our regulatory team in Toronto to support our growing digital financial services. We are looking for a sharp analyst to monitor complex transactional flows.

The Role

This role focuses on the detection and prevention of financial crime. You will manage daily alerts generated by our monitoring systems, conduct deep-dive investigations, and draft Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Alert Triage: Review and investigate alerts from transaction monitoring systems related to market abuse, structuring, or unusual cross-border flows.
  • Investigations: Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) and blockchain analysis (if applicable) to trace funds and identify red flags.
  • Reporting: Draft and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with FINTRAC.
  • Market Surveillance: Monitor trading activities to ensure compliance with market integrity rules.
  • Advisory: Provide direct support and reports to the CCO on emerging threats and typologies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in transaction monitoring, financial crime investigations, or market surveillance.
  • Experience with case management systems (e.g., Actimize, ComplyAdvantage).
  • Proven ability to write clear, factual, and evidence-based SARs/STRs.
  • Background in Banking transaction and Payment Service Providers is a strong asset.
  • CAMS or equivalent certification is highly regarded.
