Spectrix Analytical Services is seeking a Computational Biology / ML Engineer. This role focuses on enabling scientists to leverage computational tools for protein therapeutic design and building end-to-end machine learning pipelines. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) remote position with a preference for US Eastern time zone.
The work will be across a Kubernetes-based workflow orchestration platform and a scientific tools monorepo containing containerized computational biology applications. The role involves making these systems accessible to scientists, integrating new tools, and developing automated ML pipelines that drive therapeutic discovery from a computational perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain automated end-to-end machine learning pipelines for protein therapeutic design.
Enable scientists to adopt and use computational tooling through documentation, CLI tools, and hands-on support.
Integrate new scientific tools into containerized environments and deploy them to Kubernetes.
Build and maintain Helm charts, container images, and deployment infrastructure as part of daily workflow.
Develop Python-based tooling and SDK integrations for workflow orchestration.
Collaborate with scientists and engineering leads to identify and build computational tools that accelerate discovery.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree
0-2 Years related experience
Strong Python development skills with experience building production-grade tooling or pipelines.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, and container-based deployments.
Experience developing or deploying machine learning pipelines in a production environment.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices.
Exposure to Rust is a plus.
Willingness to learn computational biology and protein science domains.
Effective communicator who can work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with both engineers and scientists.
