Job Description

A law firm is seeking two Conflicts Analysts to join its Los Angeles office. This role supports the firm’s Conflicts Department by assisting with conflict checks, new business intake, and maintaining the conflicts database.

The Conflicts Analyst will work closely with attorneys and staff to identify and resolve potential conflicts of interest while ensuring compliance with firm policies and ethical standards. This position is ideal for candidates with strong analytical, research, and organizational skills who are interested in legal risk and compliance within a law firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conflicts Clearance & Research

  • Assist with the firm’s conflicts clearance process for new matters and lateral hires
  • Conduct conflict of interest searches using the firm’s conflicts management system
  • Research party relationships, including parent companies and affiliates
  • Analyze and summarize findings for attorneys and staff

New Business Intake & Matter Management

  • Review new business intake forms for accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with attorneys to gather additional information as needed
  • Assist with opening new matters in the firm’s systems

Database & Reporting

  • Maintain and update the conflicts database, ensuring accurate data entry
  • Generate and distribute conflicts reports for attorneys and internal teams
  • Draft and monitor audit requests related to conflicts processes

Collaboration & Administrative Support

  • Communicate with attorneys and staff regarding conflicts checks and follow-ups
  • Provide support to the Global Head of Conflicts and assist with special projects
  • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours conflicts support as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Entry-level to 2 years of experience, preferably in a law firm, paralegal, or compliance-related role
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information
  • Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Experience in a law firm environment, particularly in conflicts or paralegal roles
  • Familiarity with conflicts management software

Work Arrangement

  • Initial training: Five days per week in-office
  • Ongoing schedule: Hybrid with approximately one day per week in-office
  • Hybrid/remote flexibility is a voluntary benefit and may be modified based on business needs

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 annually (non-exempt)
  • Compensation is based on experience and qualifications
