The Continuous Improvement Lead will lead the execution of a multi-phase manufacturing transformation for the Torrance, CA facility, guiding the transition from heavy fabrication to light assembly. This role is responsible for shaping the site’s future-state operating model and driving operational changes that support long-term efficiency, scalability, and cost optimization.

Salary Range : $110-130K / year

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational transition from heavy fabrication to a focus on light assembly through redesign and layout, material flow, and work cell configuration.
  • Develop value stream mapping (stock to Assembly operations) to propose phased improvements to floor layout considering subassembly outsourcing.
  • Identify and execute near-term improvements that reduce complexity, waste and overhead.
  • Develop equipment and tooling plan to support a new layout and improved productivity.
  • Design and implement interim operating models that support production continuity while longer-term systems are developed.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing systems principles to support transformation objectives.
  • Establish performance baselines and track progress using operational metrics tied to business outcomes.
  • Evaluate and improve space utilization, indirect labor models and operational support structures.
  • Responsible for work cell decommissioning and continuous improvement.

Background and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering, or operations transformation roles
  • Hands-on application of Lean manufacturing principles in a production environment
  • Ability to translate operational changes into financial and capacity implications
  • Experience in multi-product or mixed-mode manufacturing environments preferred
  • Background in both engineered and repeatable assembly operations preferred
  • Experience working in evolving operating models preferred

Education
