Contract ML Engineer | LLM & Agentic AI | Fintech Scale-Up | Outside IR35

Rate: £650 - £750 per day Duration: 6 months (strong likelihood of extension) Location: Remote with occasional London travel IR35: Outside

SR2 are partnered with a leading technology consultancy delivering an AI transformation programme for one of the more ambitious fintech scale-ups in the UK market right now. They are scaling fast and need a contract engineer who has been here before, someone who has built and shipped LLM and agentic systems in a fintech or scale-up environment and knows what production really means.

You'll have real ownership over technically complex work, shipping production AI into a product that actually matters, with the autonomy to do it properly.

What you'll be working on:

• Designing and deploying LLM-powered applications and agentic workflows
• RAG pipeline development and optimisation
• Integrating AI into existing fintech data infrastructure
• Collaborating with product and data teams to ship at pace

Tech stack:

• Python (primary language)
• LLM frameworks: LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen or similar
• Vector databases: Pinecone, Weaviate or pgvector
• Cloud: AWS, Azure or GCP
• MLflow or similar for experiment tracking
• Docker / Kubernetes for containerisation and deployment
• CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows

What they need:

• Proven contract experience within a fintech or scale-up environment
• Production deployment experience, models in the real world not just notebooks
• Experience with agentic architectures and multi-agent systems
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving environment
