Controls Engineer (PLC / Automation)

What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain PLC control architectures for chiller systems
- Manage version control and change management for PLC programs
- Partner with design engineers on new product configurations
- Code, test, and validate PLC/embedded software (Carel platform)
- Implement control strategies (VFDs, load matching, energy optimization)
- Work hands-on with manufacturing, testing, and debugging
- Integrate sensors, valves, motor controllers, and control components
- Perform PID tuning and system performance testing
- Support BMS integration (Modbus, BACnet, CAN, etc.)
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
- Create technical documentation (I/O lists, diagrams, manuals)
What You Bring
- Experience with PLC programming and industrial controls
- Strong understanding of HVAC/refrigeration or fluid systems (preferred)
- Experience with communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, etc.)
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering + production teams
- Hands-on mindset with strong troubleshooting skills
