Job Description

Passionate about making machines come alive? We are looking for a Control Systems Programmer / Designer to join the team at Intricco Controls & Automation in Richmond Hill!

Company Description

Intricco Controls & Automation Ltd. specializes in designing and manufacturing turnkey electrical control systems for diverse applications in the global industrial automation sector. With expertise spanning roll forming, press automation, material handling, and packaging lines, Intricco offers customized solutions to meet diverse industry needs. We are a proud inaugural member of the Beckhoff Integrator Group, demonstrating our ability to implement advanced PC-based PLC automation. Intricco is dedicated to delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient control systems to push the boundaries of industrial automation.

Are you the kind of person who loves writing logic, troubleshooting complex systems, and seeing your code run a massive piece of machinery?

At Intricco Controls & Automation, we are looking for a hands-on controls expert. While you know your way around an electrical panel, your true passion lies in programming and bringing automated systems online.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop & Program: Write, test, and optimize PLC and HMI programs from the ground up (using Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
  • Hardware Integration: Read and interpret electrical schematics to seamlessly integrate your software with the physical hardware.
  • Commissioning: Travel occasionally to client sites to lead system commissioning, testing, and factory acceptance tests (FAT).
  • Service Support: Act as the technical expert for our service team, providing advanced troubleshooting both remotely and on-site.
  • Ensure all software and safety logic complies with industry standards and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).

What you bring to the table:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience programming PLCs and HMIs.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics (you don't need to draw them, but you need to understand them!).
  • A hands-on mentality with strong experience in machine commissioning.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness for occasional travel to support service and installations.
