About the role

About Northwood Space:

Northwood is a modern space infrastructure company focused on connecting space and Earth. The world runs on space. Space will run on Northwood. Our global ground network ensures that missions ranging from national security, to global connectivity, to disaster response can unlock their full potential and operate every day without fail. How this takes shape across our brand matters.

Role:

We’re hiring a Creative Director to shape how Northwood shows up to the world. This is a hands-on role for someone who has strong taste, solid design fundamentals, and the ambition to grow into owning larger pieces of a brand over time.

You will be responsible for translating Northwood’s story into high-quality visual design across our website, social channels, and external-facing materials. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Business Development, Recruiting and Northwood’s leadership team to ensure Northwood’s visual identity is clear, cohesive, and evolving as the company scales.

Responsibilities:

  • Visual Brand Ownership: Own the visual execution of Northwood’s brand, maintaining a high standard of clarity, originality, and signal across all external touchpoints while adapting design appropriately for different audiences.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Design Execution: Design across formats including web, socials, presentations, announcements, and marketing materials. Move fluidly between layout, typography, and sketches as needed.
  • Systems, Templates, and Scale: Build and maintain brand guidelines, creating and owning templates for external communications including slide decks, one-pagers, and announcements.

Who You Are:

  • A strong visual designer with great taste and attention to detail who is comfortable owning visual execution end-to-end
  • A creative operator who understands how to craft a recognizable brand in a crowded industry
  • A collaborative operator who works closely with stakeholders to ensure aligned, effective communication while driving independent execution.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in brand design, identity and storytelling
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital, brand, and graphic design work
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
  • Experience designing for web and social platforms
  • Experience or interest in hard tech, aerospace, infrastructure, or national security
