Overview

With a continued growth in the region, an international corporate bank is seeking to hire a AVP, Credit Officer, Corporate Credit to join the Risk Management department to review and recommend corporate credit transactions for approval and maintain a healthy and high credit portfolio for the bank.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of credit risk arising from exposures booked in Corporate Banking;
  • Perform credit analysis (full scope of annual reviews, due-diligence review of new credit applications with front office, putting up waivers & amendments).
  • Close monitoring of borrowers (keeping track of negative news very closely, quarterly/semi-annual news releases, financial covenants & compliance certificates)
  • Assist in preparing periodic credit control reports and stress test.
  • Provide recommendations and highlight key risk issues to front office and Head of Credit;
  • Stay on top of high alert to credit worthiness of clients including market situations, provide advice to the related departments on proper credit-related actions whenever necessary
  • Prepare portfolio reports / analysis of bank’s credit portfolio;
  • Participate in credit policy / new product programme review and ad-hoc projects assigned by Management;
  • Willing to take on other “non-credit” risk and ad-hoc responsibilities under Head of Risk’s scope.

Requirements

  • Relevant Credit Analyst / Credit Risk experience of at least 5 years from international banks
  • Able to work independently from a risk perspective.
  • Strong analytical skills with good accounting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal command of English;
  • Ability to read Chinese financial statements from China corporates is a MUST.
  • In depth knowledge on both Chinese and Hong Kong local corporates and sectors.
  • Team player with “can-do” & “willing to learn” attitude.
  • HKIB (ECF) certification on credit analysis is preferred
