We are partnering with a leading enterprise in Hong Kong’s asset‑intensive sector that is undergoing a major digital transformation. The organization is investing heavily in modern data platforms and advanced analytics to strengthen operational efficiency, customer experience, and innovation.
As part of this journey, we are seeking an AI & Data Engineering Manager to design and build end‑to‑end data pipelines, collaborate with architects and data scientists, and deliver scalable solutions on cloud and modern data platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work on high‑impact projects in a mission‑critical industry, with exposure to cutting‑edge technologies including cloud, big data, and emerging AI frameworks.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and build end‑to‑end data pipelines, covering data collection, transformation, quality assurance, and integration to support enterprise‑wide analytics initiatives.
- Partner with solution design and business teams to identify requirements and assemble large, complex datasets that meet evolving business needs.
- Develop, implement, and fine‑tune analytics solutions aligned with both technical and business objectives.
- Collaborate with data architects to ensure integrity and scalability of data models.
- Build infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from diverse sources.
- Create tools that empower analytics and data science teams to build and optimize models and solutions.
- Work closely with DevOps engineers to ensure reliable operation of data and analytics platforms.
- Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to design and develop APIs that enable seamless integration of insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in SQL/PostgreSQL, BI solutions, and integration with third‑party tools.
- Hands‑on experience with Spark, Scala, Python, SQL scripting, relational databases, NoSQL platforms, and cloud technologies (e.g., Azure).
- Familiarity with Data Lake, Databricks, Data Factory, BI dashboards, and enterprise BI implementation projects.
- Proven track record in processing large, complex datasets and building end‑to‑end pipelines on cloud or on‑premise platforms.
- Strong coding background in data management, warehousing, or unstructured data environments.
- Industry experience in asset‑intensive sectors (e.g., energy, utilities, infrastructure) is highly valued.
- Exposure to coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and productivity tools for development.
- Understanding of GenAI concepts such as RAG, orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex), and vector databases to support AI use cases.
- Expertise in Azure cloud platforms and data integration patterns.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, warehousing, and BI concepts.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and a structured approach.
- Curiosity about emerging AI trends and their impact on data engineering.
