Job Summary El Paso County Department of Human Services (EPCDHS) is seeking a detail‑oriented data professional with strong critical thinking skills, a passion for process improvement, and expertise in data visualization and analytic tools. In this role, you’ll help advance data modernization for the department as a member of the Data Analytics team, which delivers high‑quality data products and consultative support to department programs and community partners, empowering data‑driven decisions and streamlining the delivery of services to the public. Salary Range: $70,000.00 – $79,140.00 annually. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Hybrid schedule available upon successful completion of the probationary period; subject to change. Essential Duties / Responsibilities Collect, analyze, document, and interpret data and information related to applicable requirements, initiatives, services, and other activities. Independently draws reasonable and sound conclusions and provides presentations. Develop data solutions, tools, and capabilities to improve data‑driven efforts, frameworks, data delivery, or dashboards. Conduct research, compile data, and use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends; isolate potential root causes, project consequences, draw conclusions, and provide solutions or recommendations. Design, validate, and assess methods of data collection and analysis; develop and implement protocols for data extraction and analysis. Monitor data collection methods and audit data to ensure methodologies and protocols are followed. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to produce qualitative and quantitative data analysis that supports organizational objectives and processes, aligning with the strategic plan and associated efforts. Conduct comprehensive and special‑purpose data analysis, audits, and/or examinations; review, evaluate, and measure compliance of programs and processes for quality, effectiveness, and outcomes; assess adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and other legal mandates. Recommend and implement practices/processes to support data analytics and program improvement. Identify, recommend, and help implement process improvement opportunities. Propose system modifications and devise data management strategies to improve the quality and usability of data. Serve as the organization’s subject‑matter expert for function/assignment‑specific systems, databases, and data integrity. Develop and oversee training and development of staff on the use of data collection systems and quality assurance, ensuring alignment with policies, procedures, and best practices. Provide technical assistance, troubleshooting, and user support for databases and systems. Lead or participate in data‑driven work groups or committees; collaborate with internal and external partners to improve the efficiency of databases and systems; provide recommendations. Utilize function/assignment knowledge to provide guidance and recommendations to leadership, staff, and external sources regarding department data, policies, procedures, and best practices. Maintain a highly technical working knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and relevant regulations, policies, standards, and procedures to improve the organization's operations.
