Location: Boston, MA or St. Louis, MO

Hours: 1st shift 8:00am - 4:30pm (40 hours/weekly)

Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our dynamic analytics team. As a key member of our team, you will support data-driven decision-making processes by assisting with data collection, cleaning, analysis, and reporting using a variety of tools and techniques. Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing data models and database structures to support business needs using tools like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Looker.
  • Support the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from multiple sources utilizing Talend, Python, Bash scripts, or VBA to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reports with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker to communicate findings effectively across teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams following Agile methodologies to manage project tasks within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Conduct business analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvements through comprehensive data analysis skills.
  • Participate in database design activities to optimize data storage solutions aligned with best practices in database management.
  • Support ongoing efforts in linked data initiatives to enhance data integration across platforms for richer insights.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying databases; experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle is preferred.
  • Experience with visualization platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create compelling reports.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and tools such as Talend or VBA for automating data workflows.
  • Understanding of database design principles and experience working within Agile project management environments.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets into clear insights.
  • Exposure to SDLC processes and familiarity with version control systems is advantageous.
