Purpose Of The Role

The Data Analyst will work with a dynamic, cross‑functional team to deliver data and model risk management initiatives. The role focuses on implementing projects, strengthening governance and controls in line with OCBC Group practices, and ensuring rigorous data governance and model risk oversight across critical data assets and models. In addition, the role will provide executive support to the CRO Office.

Drive Data & Risk Initiatives

  • Work closely with the team to plan, execute, and track data or model risk‑related projects across Hong Kong and Macau.
  • Ensure local implementation aligns with OCBC Group standards, policies, and delivery timelines.

Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Define scope, milestones, and resource needs.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders to drive tasks to completion.
  • Provide periodic status updates, dashboards, and escalation summaries to superiors and relevant governance forums.

Governance, Controls & Data Quality

  • Interpret and apply the OCBC Group data governance framework and policies.
  • Conduct regular reviews on governance and control effectiveness; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Coordinate remediation and preventive actions for data quality issues.

Execution & Support to CRO Office

  • Provide support to CRO office and manage the CRO’s scheduling.
  • Monitor budgeting and coordinate division‑wide activities.

What Are We Looking For

  • A degree holder with 2 - 3 years of experience in banking industry.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SQL/BI tools (e.g., Power BI) is an advantage.
  • Embed AI into workflows (e.g., prompt engineering for summarization, data exploration, and document production).
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills. Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
