Focus: Engineering Analysis, Carbon Modelling & ESG Strategy
Role Purpose:
As a Sustainability Analyst, you will bridge the gap between engineering principles and environmental
strategy. This role is designed for an analytical professional who can take, raw data from industrial or
corporate environments and transform it into clear, actionable decarbonization roadmaps. You will use
your engineering logic to ensure that sustainability goals are not just ambitious, but technically
feasible.
Key Responsibilities
Excel Modeling: Build and manage complex, automated spreadsheets to calculate energy
intensity, and water usage.
Automation: Utilize Advanced Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, and Arrays) to clean
large datasets from clients and create repeatable calculation templates.
Quality Assurance: Audit client data for technical consistency, ensuring that engineering
units (kWh, tonnes, MJ) are converted and reported accurately.
Process Assessment: Review engineering diagrams (P&IDs), utility bills, and equipment
specs to identify energy-saving opportunities.
Technical Feasibility: Assist in evaluating green technologies (e.g., HVAC upgrades,
electrification, or waste-to-energy systems) from both a carbon and cost perspective.
Benchmark Modeling: Compare client performance against industry standards using first-
principles engineering calculations.
Impact Visualization: Translate spreadsheet data into compelling charts and dashboards for
client presentations.
Compliance Support: Draft technical sections of sustainability reports in alignment with
global frameworks like GHG Protocol, GRI, or CDP.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging green technologies and carbon
regulations to provide & "ahead-of-the-curve" advice.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience in consulting, energy
management, or a technical engineering role.
Education: Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or Civil).
Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency is non-negotiable. You should be comfortable handling
large datasets, building interactive models, and using complex formulas to solve problems.
Analytical Mindset: A "detective" approach to data—finding the story within the numbers and
identifying errors in technical reports.
Sustainability Flair: A demonstrated interest in the green transition, circular economy, or
renewable energy. You don't just "do the math"; you care about the impact.
Why This Role?
This role offers the opportunity to apply a "hard" engineering skill set to the "soft" world of corporate sustainability. You will be the technical backbone of the team, ensuring that every sustainability claim the client makes is backed by rigorous data and sound engineering logic.
