£90,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite, London

Gravitas is proud to be partnering with a leading international specialty commercial insurance organisation to recruit a Data & Analytics Manager. This is a senior, high-impact role at the heart of an enterprise-wide data and analytics transformation.

The role offers a blend of technical leadership, delivery oversight, and strategic business partnership, with responsibility for shaping how data and analytics drive decision-making across underwriting, claims, actuarial and corporate functions.

The Role

As the Data & Analytics Manager, you will lead the development and execution of advanced data and analytics solutions that deliver measurable business value. You will oversee architectural design, guide technical delivery, and lead a globally distributed team of data professionals, while staying close to the detail to ensure best practices are consistently applied.

This position operates on a hybrid basis, with three days per week onsite in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide data and analytics initiatives aligned to strategic business objectives
  • Design and deploy advanced analytical models, dashboards and reporting solutions to uncover insights and inform decision-making
  • Partner closely with Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, IT and Business Insights teams to embed analytics into core business processes
  • Provide strategic data leadership for enterprise and digital transformation initiatives
  • Lead, coach and manage a hybrid team of data engineers and analytics specialists across onshore and offshore locations
  • Own work estimation, prioritisation and resource planning aligned to business demand
  • Oversee delivery governance including JIRA tracking, Confluence documentation and technical design standards
  • Lead technical designs across data models, ETL processes and visualisation solutions (SSIS, Tableau, SSRS)
  • Support global reporting initiatives aligned with US-led data and analytics programmes
  • Enforce clean code principles, modular design and best practices across all analytics and data pipelines
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on data pipelines, APIs and model deployment infrastructure
  • Define and implement best-practice data modelling approaches including data warehousing and lakehouse architectures
  • Lead metadata management, lineage tracking and orchestration strategy
  • Ensure reporting quality through code reviews, documentation and robust testing
  • Own incident resolution, root cause analysis and long-term remediation
  • Maintain audit readiness through appropriate documentation, lineage and access control
  • Manage relationships with third-party analytics and technology partners

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Strong experience in enterprise data management and analytics best practices
  • Proven delivery of BI platforms and operational reporting solutions
  • Experience designing normalized, star schema and multidimensional data models
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing and slowly changing dimensions
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to articulate technical and analytical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage priorities in a complex, delivery-focused environment

  • Microsoft BI stack: SSIS, SSRS
  • SQL Server (advanced querying and optimisation)

Desirable

  • Background in insurance with knowledge of industry KPIs / KRIs
  • Experience with financial and insurance data models
