Position Overview

Join our team as a Data and Business Intelligence Developer, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of our reporting databases. In this impactful position, you'll test and refine SQL queries and stored procedures, while also leading code reviews to optimize our datasets. Your collaboration with infrastructure teams and business stakeholders will be key to maintaining robust data governance and ensuring system integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure data integrity across various departmental systems.
  • Develop automation frameworks to simplify and enhance data processes across platforms.
  • Prepare high-quality data for reporting and business intelligence systems tailored for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document and establish policies and procedures based on technical and business data standards.
  • Support and advocate for Molina's data management practices across different functions, focusing on data collection, sharing, and utilization.
  • Conduct regular code reviews for continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Ensure that all database programs achieve company performance benchmarks.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies to maintain a cutting-edge platform.
  • Perform data analysis, gap analysis, and root cause analysis, providing actionable recommendations based on your insights.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent 4-5 years of Data Development experience in lieu of a degree.

Required Experience/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with SQL, database development, and familiarity with at least one BI analytics tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), including MS Azure, Data Lake, and Databricks.
  • A minimum of 2 years of practical experience with SSIS and SSRS.
  • Understanding of software development and application programming interfaces.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand user requirements.

Preferred Education:

Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science or Systems Analysis.

Preferred Experience:

  • 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL and database development.
  • Experience in a Medicare environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python is advantageous.
