Job Description

Title: Sr. Mechanical Project Engineer

Location: Miami, FL

Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $120K-$140K + 10% Bonus

Role Summary

Lead commissioning of mechanical systems for data centers. Requires hands-on expertise in mechanical system design, operation, and troubleshooting. Responsible for field execution, documentation, scheduling, team guidance, and technical assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Commission mechanical, plumbing, and fire systems for data centers
  • Review designs for client compliance
  • Execute and document commissioning activities and tests
  • Manage daily field operations and reporting
  • Coordinate with project teams and clients
  • Guide and train junior engineers
  • Attend project meetings, lead when needed
  • Ensure safety compliance

Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering + 5 years mission-critical experience, or
  • 7+ years commissioning in mission-critical projects
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Knowledge of BMS/EPMS and commissioning guidelines (ASHRAE, BCxA preferred)
  • Team-oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks

Certifications

  • PE license or commissioning certification is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Walk up to 5 miles/day, carry up to 50 lbs, wear PPE
  • Nationwide travel 20–30%
