Summary:

In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables. Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Software Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering.

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Analytics Focus) to join our Data Engineering organization. This role is designed for a senior‑level engineer with a strong foundation in data engineering, analytics, and advanced SQL, who thrives in complex, regulated enterprise environments. The role will focus on designing, optimizing, and supporting analytics‑driven data solutions, including structured data models, SQL‑based transformations, and reporting‑ready datasets. While ServiceNow is one of the enterprise platforms supported, data engineering and analytics ownership are the core responsibilities, not platform administration. The successful candidate will lead moderately complex initiatives, influence data platform strategy, and act as a technical leader supporting analytics, reporting, and data‑driven decisioning across ServiceNow and related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead moderately complex data engineering and analytics initiatives, delivering scalable, high‑quality solutions
  • Design, develop, test, and document SQL‑driven data solutions, data models, and analytics‑ready datasets
  • Analyze and optimize data structures, query performance, scalability, and data quality
  • Solve ambiguous and complex data problems, translating business requirements into durable technical designs
  • Support analytics and reporting use cases across enterprise platforms, including ServiceNow
  • Contribute to data platform roadmaps, technical standards, and engineering best practices
  • Partner with product owners, analytics teams, and stakeholders to align solutions with business and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex data and analytics issues
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced engineers
  • Support deployments, enhancements, and upgrades in an Agile delivery environment

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software engineering through work experience, education, training, or military experience
  • Strong theoretical and practical foundation in data engineering and analytics
  • Advanced SQL Server expertise, including: Complex and nested queries, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), Recursive logic, Data modeling and query performance optimization
  • Proven ability to solve ambiguous, non‑trivial data problems with minimal direction
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and technologies

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting analytics, reporting, or data solutions on enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow
  • Business Intelligence experience using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools (2+ years preferred)
  • Experience with full‑stack development technologies such as .NET or Angular
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, including sprint planning and backlog refinement
  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD) or equivalent platform experience
  • 2+ years of experience in full‑stack web development using .NET or Angular
