The Data Engineer is an interdisciplinary individual on the Finance Systems team who works closely with multiple stakeholders, both in business and IT, to ensure the data most important to business analytics and the improvement of RSM's Finance operations is accessible and well-understood. Work with the Finance Data Product Owner to understand our architecture and design, assist with implementation related to scalable data stores for structured and unstructured data. Learn how to optimize ongoing reporting and analytic processes which automate or enhancement the self-service capabilities of our customers, both internal to Finance and external.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create and apply data design standards and assist in maintaining and documenting our Finance data solutions that support reporting, visualizations, and data analytics across our business
  • Improve upon ongoing reporting and analytics processes, support data integration automation to simplify self-service for Bl customers
  • Assist in administration of the Bl data integration and reporting environments including data connectivity, system performance, and security
  • Facilitate business requirements sessions and conduct data analysis to accurately identify and specify the data needed to support impactful business objectives
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or similar education or experience

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Experience with data platforms like Databricks
  • Proficiency in SQL required
  • Experience with Python preferred
  • Understanding of relational database concepts required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • API integration and/or development understanding preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years in a reporting/data analytics-related role preferred
  • Experience collecting data requirements preferred
  • Reporting environment administration experience preferred
  • Efficient with data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources preferred

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • Good communication skills with and the passion to learn to support data flow across an enterprise with good data practices is preferred

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $72,100 - $118,800

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
