Data Engineer (Junior)

Junior Data Engineer (AWS) Dallas, TX (Hybrid - 4 days onsite) | Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and data models within an AWS-based environment. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable data solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. What You'll Do Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate data and reporting needs into scalable data solutions Design, build, and maintain data pipelines (batch and real-time) across multiple data sources Develop and maintain data models to support analytics and reporting initiatives Support integration of internal systems, APIs, and external data sources Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting for pipeline performance and failures Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis with clear documentation Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and efficient schema design Maintain documentation for data models, pipelines, and processes Support migration and decommissioning of legacy data pipelines What You Bring 2-3 years of experience in data engineering or related roles Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and database design Experience with Python for data processing and automation Experience designing and managing data pipelines and ETL processes Understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, schema design) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Nice to Have Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or similar platforms Experience working in AWS environments Exposure to SAP or enterprise ERP systems Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code tools Work Environment Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite in the Dallas, TX area Collaborative, cross-functional team environment Opportunity to work on modern data platforms and tools Why This Role Strong growth opportunity within data engineering Exposure to enterprise-scale data environments Opportunity to work on impactful data initiatives
