The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled hands-on Snowflake Data Engineer to help scale our modern Data platform. You will bridge the gap between raw data and actionable intelligence by building robust Data Lakes, Data warehouses, ETL/ELT Pipelines and developing the Data infrastructure necessary for advanced Analytics and AI/ML initiatives. You will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, specifically leveraging the power of Snowflake Data Platform and AWS AI/ML Platform to drive innovation in the financial services sector.
Responsibilities
- Snowflake Platform Engineering: Build and manage complex Snowflake Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments utilizing Open Data formats (Iceberg); design scalable data pipelines using Snowpark, Snowpipe, and OpenFlow, and develop native applications via Streamlit. Drive platform excellence by implementing advanced virtual warehouse optimization, rigorous cost-management strategies, and automated governance frameworks to ensure high performance and scalability
- ETL/ELT Pipeline Development: Design and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines using Configurable ETL frameworks to ingest and transform data from diverse source systems into Snowflake Data Platform and Data Lakes. Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions, ensuring high-quality batch and real-time processing for regulatory and financial reporting.
- AI/ML Support: Collaborate with Data Scientists to build data foundations for machine learning models, including feature engineering and preparing datasets for training/inference for AWS based AI/ML Platform leveraging Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker.
- Data Governance: Ensure data quality, integrity, and security, maintaining compliance with financial industry standards.
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data science, or a related technical field.
- 5 + years of Data Engineering experience with at least 3 years of strong hands-on experience in Snowflake. SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced Data Engineer Certification Preferred.
- Strong SQL experience and proficiency in Python/Java for data manipulation and automation.
- Proven experience using cloud technologies, with significant hands-on experience in Snowflake Data Platform (Warehouses, Horizon Catalog, Snowpark, Snowpipe, OpenFlow, Streamlit, Cortex) & AWS AI/ML Services.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT frameworks (e.g., Apache NiFi, Airflow, Talend, dbt, Informatica, DataStage, AWS Glue)
- Expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Databricks) and Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift)
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for working with cutting-edge technologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work within a cross-functional team.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $107,000 to $126,000 at the commencement of employment for the Jersey City, NJ and Woodland Hills, CA area. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
