Data Engineering Manager

As a Manager of Data Engineering, you will operate at the intersection of hands-on platform development and technical leadership, shaping a modern, cloud-native data ecosystem that enables analytics, machine learning, and financial systems. This role emphasizes building and operating scalable data platforms, streaming pipelines, and orchestration frameworks while mentoring engineers and driving engineering quality.

You will influence architecture, establish reusable patterns, and deliver production-grade data products that balance flexibility, governance, and reliability. This is an opportunity to stay deeply technical while leading high-impact initiatives across a complex, data-driven organization.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years leading data engineering initiatives with direct people management experience in complex, cross-functional environments
• Strong hands-on expertise with cloud-native data platforms, including orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow), streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka), and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• Experience building and operating scalable data platforms using modern practices such as CI/CD, monitoring, security, and lakehouse/warehouse solutions (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)

Desired Skills & Experience

• Proven ability to define technical direction and influence architecture across multiple teams or domains
• Experience designing reusable data/ML platform patterns, observability frameworks, and self-service tooling
• Track record of mentoring engineers and building high-performing, adoption-focused engineering teams

• Hands-On Engineering: 70%
• Team Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work: 30%
