Job Description: Data Engineer Role Overview
We are looking for a robust and analytical Data Engineer to join our data team in Singapore. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources. Your mission is to ensure our data pipelines are scalable, reliable, and secure, providing the foundation for our Data Science and Business Intelligence teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, construct, install, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and pipelines (ETL/ELT).
- Infrastructure Management: Build the infrastructure required for optimal loading of data from various sources using SQL and AWS/Azure/GCP technologies.
- Data Modeling: Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture and large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.
- Automation: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
- Data Quality & Governance: Implement robust data quality checks and ensure compliance with PDPA and international data security standards.
- Collaboration: Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
Requirements (The "Must-Haves")
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, or Scala.
- Hands-on experience with big data tools: Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, etc.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow, Luigi, etc.
- Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Preferred Skills (The "Singapore Edge")
- Experience with dbt (data build tool) and modern data stack components (Snowflake, Databricks).
- Knowledge of Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Stream-processing systems (Storm, Spark Streaming).
- Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer or Google Professional Data Engineer.
