About the Role
We are looking for a data enthusiast who is passionate about databases to join us as a key contributor in building our company’s data governance framework. You will work closely with backend engineers, product managers, and data analysts from various business units to drive database standardization, data visualization, and data reliability initiatives.
You are not just a developer — you are a “data guardian” who ensures that data is clear, organized, and trustworthy.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage data governance platforms (e.g., DataHub, Collibra) to ingest and manage metadata from databases (e.g., MySQL), and build and maintain an enterprise-grade data catalog.
- Define and implement automated data quality frameworks using appropriate tools to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and availability of critical data assets.
- Design, implement, and validate event tracking strategies (e.g., Sensors Data, GrowingIO, or in-house systems) across business modules, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
- Contribute to the establishment and adoption of database design standards (including naming conventions, indexing strategies, documentation, and schema design) to drive consistency and scalability.
- Classify and manage business data assets, including database categorization, table labeling (e.g., primary/replica/sensitive), and the establishment of master data (single source of truth) frameworks.
- Partner with product, engineering, analytics, and compliance teams to align on data definitions, metrics, and governance standards, embedding best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related data discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in data development, with hands-on expertise in complex data modeling and analytical logic; experience in finance, insurance, or securities industries is preferred.
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, including metadata, master data, data quality, and data lineage.
- Proficient in relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, with the ability to understand schema design, field logic, and database best practices.
- Skilled in Python and/or Shell scripting, with experience in configuring DataHub metadata ingestion or developing data quality rules using Great Expectations (GE).
