The team does quarterly on-site travel for meetings, and is expected on-site for Go-Lives. Candidates will be considered outside of Texas if they are comfortable with the travel as needed model.
Overview
Our Clinical Applications team is expanding following the recent implementation of Epic Beaker across the hospital system. With over 300+ active requests currently in the queue, we are actively seeking a Data Innovations (DI) Analyst to support the laboratory environment and help stabilize and optimize newly deployed workflows.
This individual will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Data Innovations Instrument Manager, supporting the Epic Beaker lab team with rule configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Data Innovations SME supporting the Epic Beaker laboratory application
- Build, modify, and maintain Instrument Manager rules, including auto-verification logic
- Read, write, and troubleshoot complex DI rule sets to ensure accurate lab result processing
- Support prioritization and resolution of the existing lab request backlog (300+ requests) in collaboration with leadership
- Partner with Clinical Applications leadership (Director, Manager, Architect) on workflow optimization and issue resolution
- Provide ongoing support, including:
- Troubleshooting instrument interfaces
- Maintaining rule accuracy and performance
- Enhancing lab automation processes
- Participate in occasional on-site support for:
- System optimization efforts
- New hospital activations or go-live events
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Data Innovations Instrument Manager
- Proven ability to write and interpret DI rules (auto-verification)
- Experience operating as an SME-level resource within a lab or clinical systems environment
- Familiarity with Epic Beaker or supporting laboratory systems
- Experience prioritizing and resolving high-volume request queues in a production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Data Innovations coursework, including:
- Advanced training such as “Mastering Autoverification Rule Sets in Instrument Manager”
- Experience supporting recent Epic Beaker implementations or optimizations
- Healthcare system or hospital lab experience
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree + 4+ years of experience, OR
- Associate’s degree + 6+ years of experience, OR
- No degree + 8+ years of relevant experience
