We are currently seeking a driven and collaborative Data Governance and Quality Analyst to join our forward-thinking information systems team in our downtown Toronto office.
DATA QUALITY ANALYST

Position Overview:
As a Data Quality Analyst on our Data & Analytics Team, you will play a dual role that combines hands-on data analysis while supporting data governance practices across the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and trusted for reporting and analytics.
Working closely with stakeholders in Finance, Operations and IT, you will deliver high-quality reporting, uncover trends, and support key initiatives. At the same time, you will contribute to maintaining strong data foundations by supporting data quality, standardization, and governance efforts.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing data to generate insights and improving how data is managed and used across the business.
What You’ll Do:
Support Data Quality & Governance
- Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of reporting outputs.
- Adhere to established data standards, definitions, and governance practices.
- Contribute to documentation such as data glossaries, data dictionaries and lineage where relevant.
- Identify data quality issues using SQL scripts and work with technical teams to resolve them.
- Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to define and certify data products, enhancing discoverability and trust in enterprise data.
Deliver Insights that Drive Decisions
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Translate business questions into data-driven analyses and recommendations.
- Perform root cause analysis to support operational and financial decision-making.
Enhance Data Processes
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to support analytics and operational workflows.
- Automate recurring reporting and data preparation processes.
- Support data readiness for advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
What You Bring:
Core Skills & Experience
- Implementation and management experience with enterprise metadata management platforms.
- Proven experience in data governance and data quality management.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate data into insights.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with business stakeholders.
Technical Skills
- Advanced T-SQL (queries, stored procedures, performance tuning).
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure preferred) is an asset.
- Familiarity with data governance concepts or tools (e.g., Purview, Collibra).
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to data science or advanced analytics workflows.
- Familiarity with Pyspark is an asset.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of overall professional experience, including at least 2 years in data analyst or governance role.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) are considered assets.
- Prior work experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries is an advantage.

Location:
- Downtown Toronto – Hybrid – 4 days per week in office
Salary:
- The expected salary in this position is within the range of $80,000 - $95,000
This salary range reflects the expected base compensation for the role across Canada. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities. Trisura provides this range in good faith in accordance with applicable legislation.
