Role Overview:
We are seeking a Database Patching Automation Engineer/Architect with deep expertise in Ansible, Python, Shell scripting, and DevOps automation. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing scalable patching automation frameworks for enterprise databases across hybrid/multi‑cloud infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated patching frameworks for Oracle (RAC & Exadata), SQL Server, IBM Db2, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra
- Develop end‑to‑end patching pipelines (version discovery, pre/post checks, compliance validation, reporting/dashboards)
- Build and maintain automation workflows using Rundeck, Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, MFO
- Create and maintain scripts using Python, Shell, PowerShell
- Integrate workflows with monitoring, scheduling, orchestration tools
- Integrate patching automation with CMDB, ServiceNow, change control workflows
- Collaborate with OS, Database, and Security teams for compliance and scalability
- Troubleshoot automation failures and optimize processes
- Document automation designs, workflows, and procedures
Mandatory Skills
- Automation Tools: Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories), Rundeck, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, MFO
- Programming & Scripting: Python (strong hands‑on), Shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell)
- Automation Expertise: Proven patching automation solutions in large‑scale enterprise environments

- OS knowledge: Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu), Windows Server
- Database knowledge: Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Cassandra
- CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools
