Job Description

About Reap

Reap is a global financial technology company headquartered in Hong Kong with employees across multiple countries. We enable financial connectivity and access for businesses worldwide by combining traditional finance with stablecoins for efficient money movement.

Through our stablecoin-powered corporate cards, payments, and expense management tools, we streamline financial operations and help businesses scale. Our APIs enable businesses to integrate stablecoin-enabled finance into their own products and services — from issuing Visa cards to facilitating cross-border payments.

Backed by leading investors including Index Ventures and HashKey Capital, Reap is building the future of borderless, stablecoin-enabled finance.

The Opportunity

We're at an inflection point. AI is reshaping how engineering teams build software and DevOps is at the center of that shift. The teams shipping fastest are the ones where every developer can spin up a fully isolated, production-like environment in seconds, run their work, and tear it all down without thinking twice. That's the world we're building toward.

As our DevOps Lead, you'll own Reap's infrastructure evolution end-to-end: driving us to complete Infrastructure as Code, building out disposable ephemeral environments as a first-class primitive for our engineering team, and designing the platform that lets AI-assisted development workflows thrive. This is a hands-on leadership role; you will lead a DevOps team, set technical direction, and be deeply involved in building the systems yourself.

If you've led teams through this kind of platform transformation before and you're excited about what AI tooling means for developer experience and infrastructure, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

Lead and grow the DevOps team

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of DevOps engineers: setting standards, running 1:1s, and building a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
  • Define the team's roadmap, prioritise initiatives, and communicate infrastructure strategy to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Act as the final decision-maker on architectural and tooling choices; own outcomes end to end.

Complete the IaC transformation

  • Drive Reap to full Infrastructure as Code coverage: no manual provisioning, no drift. Every resource defined, versioned, and reproducible.
  • Architect and own Terraform (or equivalent) codebases across multi-region, multi-account AWS environments.
  • Establish governance, module standards, and automated drift detection to keep infrastructure as the source of truth.

Build disposable, ephemeral development environments

  • Design and implement an ephemeral environment platform so every developer (and every AI coding agent) can get a fully isolated, production-like environment on demand and have it cleaned up automatically when done.
  • Ensure environments are fast to provision, cheap to run, and identical to production. Branch deployments, PR environments, and on-demand dev sandboxes should all be first-class.
  • Work with engineering teams to integrate disposable environments into the day-to-day development workflow and into AI-assisted coding toolchains.

Own the deployment and delivery platform

  • Scale and mature our ECS environments: cluster management, deployment strategies, autoscaling.
  • Own GitOps delivery via ArgoCD: secure pipelines, environment promotion, and rollback strategies.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines that are fast, reliable, and developer-friendly with AI tooling as a first-class consideration.

Drive platform reliability and security

  • Oversee cloud operations for high-throughput, regulated financial systems: uptime, failover, and incident response.
  • Embed security into the infrastructure layer: secrets management, least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, and compliance controls.
  • Establish observability standards across logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.

What We are Looking For

Leadership experience: You have led a DevOps or platform engineering team before. You know how to hire, develop, and retain strong engineers; how to run a roadmap; and how to balance hands-on technical work with team leadership.

IaC depth: You've owned a full IaC migration or greenfield IaC buildout at scale. Terraform is second nature. You understand state management, module design, and how to enforce standards across a team.

Ephemeral environments: You have designed and operated ephemeral or on-demand environment platforms. You understand the tradeoffs between speed, cost, and fidelity and you have solved the hard problems around database seeding, service dependencies, and secrets in short-lived environments.

AWS expertise: Strong familiarity with AWS Control Tower, AWS networking (VPCs, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink), IAM, RDS, and cost management. AWS certifications are a plus.

AI-era DevOps mindset: You're actively thinking about what AI coding assistants, agents, and automated workflows mean for develo
