The Asset Owners Team is part of the North America Commercial organization. We focus on a carefully identified group of institutional decision-makers and influencers, promoting solutions and providing access to index data, analytics, research, and market intelligence. We work closely with colleagues across Client Coverage, Product, Index Investment Strategy, Research & Design, Client Services, Marketing, and Legal to deliver client outcomes and revenue growth.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Drive commercial growth and revenue generation by identifying, qualifying, and advancing opportunities from early discovery through client execution, building and managing a robust pipeline across U.S. and Canadian asset owners. This role requires demonstrating how your work fits into the broader strategy and leveraging your network in other functions and at a senior leadership level to ensure strategic alignment and buy-in.
  • Lead client coverage and business development by managing and expanding existing client relationships, actively prospecting new asset owners, and developing multi-threaded coverage with investment staff and key influencers. Deliver a consultative, solutions-based approach linking client objectives to S&P DJI capabilities across equities, fixed income, factors, thematic, multi-asset, private markets, and sustainability. You will articulate market trends and act as an expert, coaching others on complex matters in this capacity.
  • Orchestrate solutions and enable implementation by partnering across a matrixed organization (Product, Research & Design, Index Investment Strategy, Client Coverage/Sales, Client Services, Marketing, Legal, etc.) to deliver high-quality outcomes and ensure commercial objectives translate into implementable, licensed solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders outside of your own immediate unit/area/geography and incorporate diverse perspectives.
  • Drive thought leadership, education, and market presence by increasing awareness and adoption through client education, targeted outreach, and event engagement, bringing relevant index research, analytics, and market insights into client dialogue, and representing S&P DJI at industry forums in the U.S. and Canada. This includes articulating market trends and ensuring quality of current value creation.
  • Maintain operational rigor and governance by demonstrating disciplined outreach, meeting management, pipeline reporting, forecasting practices, and sound judgment in licensing-related discussions, documentation, and execution processes. This role acts as an escalation point.
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $126,676 to $202,264. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 7+ years of experience in institutional commercial roles (sales, solutions, consulting, relationship management) within indexing, asset management, financial data/technology, or related institutional markets.
  • Proven success and strong understanding of the asset owner ecosystem and decision-making processes, including governance structures, consultant influence, and benchmark selection dynamics and investment structures. This requires taking an enterprise perspective to all your work and using in-depth professional knowledge and acumen to monitor external trends, develop models, and consider multiple scenarios within your area.
  • Demonstrated ability to position and differentiate index solutions and to translate client needs into revenue-generating licensing outcomes. This role requires advanced knowledge in a specialized field and broad knowledge of several related disciplines within a function.
  • We require all external candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
