At the core of CCB’s credit model is Commercial Lending Management (CLM)—an in‑business credit organization that partners directly with Coverage, Product, and Independent Risk to deliver disciplined, scalable, and market‑leading lending solutions.

We are seeking a Director, In‑Business Credit Industry Head for Digital, Technology & Communications (DTC). This role reports to the North American Head of CLM and is a key member of the senior credit leadership team, with responsibility for credit strategy, underwriting standards, portfolio risk oversight, and talent leadership across one of Citi’s highest‑growth industry verticals. The Industry Head (Director) leads the end‑to‑end credit lifecycle for the DTC portfolio, overseeing underwriting, structuring, documentation, and ongoing portfolio management. This role manages a large, experienced team of credit officers and analysts and serves as a senior thought partner to Coverage, Syndications, Independent Risk, and Product leadership. This is a true senior leadership role, combining strategic direction, credit approval oversight, and people leadership, with direct influence on Citi’s capital deployment, risk posture, and growth strategy within the Digital, Technology & Communications sector.

  • Lead quarterly and annual portfolio reviews, including rating accuracy, covenant performance, and classification
  • Proactively identify emerging sector risks and drive portfolio‑level mitigation strategies

Senior Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a senior credit partner to Coverage, Syndications, Independent Risk, Treasury, and Product leadership
  • Represent the DTC portfolio in senior credit committees, governance forums, and selected client discussions
  • Provide industry thought leadership and credit perspectives to internal and external stakeholders

People Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, develop, and retain a high‑performing, diverse team of senior credit professionals
  • Build strong succession pipelines and mentor next‑generation credit leaders
  • Champion continuous improvement of industry‑specific credit expertise across CCB

Governance, Controls & Strategic Initiatives

  • Ensure strong governance, controls, and regulatory compliance across the portfolio (First Line of Defense accountability)
  • Sponsor and lead North American and global CLM initiatives, including policy evolution and process transformation
  • Drive training and capability‑building efforts to strengthen credit excellence across the organization

Qualifications & Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in senior credit decision‑making roles within a large financial institution
  • Extensive experience underwriting and managing complex commercial credit transactions
  • Deep knowledge of the Digital, Technology & Communications ecosystem, including sector‑specific risks and performance drivers
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing large credit teams
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment with significant approval authority
