The Role:

We’re seeking an experienced internal communications leader to help take SoFi, its culture, and its mission to new heights. The Director, Internal Communications will lead our internal comms team and partner closely with executives and a wide range of business unit and functional leaders to inform, inspire, and connect employees across our global organization. We’re looking for an innovation-minded leader who sweats the details, brings a steady hand in a crisis, and stays ruthlessly focused on business impact. 

As a leader on our Communications & Policy team, you’ll play a key role in helping SoFi successfully navigate its next chapter of growth through even stronger employee engagement and a world-class culture. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Drive core company-wide internal communications programs: Direct and identify opportunities to optimize company-wide communications programs including: hands meetings, product roadmap reviews, annual priority setting, and product/initiative launches

Provide strategic counsel and hands-on support for critical initiatives:  Advise leaders and orchestrate employee engagement surrounding high stakes moments, including organizational changes, leadership transitions, corporate integrations, and more

Identify opportunities to strengthen employee engagement and culture: Partner with our People team and other leaders to champion our culture, diagnose opportunities to improve engagement, and bring fresh perspectives that inform and inspire our employees

Champion communications best practices that enable organizational agility and alignment: Advocate for excellence across employee-facing communications and ensure our content is compelling and actionable

Refine measurement and optimization capabilities:  Track engagement metrics and gather feedback to continuously improve our team’s impact

Harness technology to extend our impact: Ensure we maximize the value of existing tools, whether it’s a channel like Slack or Zoom, or generative AI methods like ChatGPT, and evaluate new ones as needed

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in internal communications, with strong preference given to candidates who have worked in technology or product-driven financial services companies

Strong portfolio of creative, visually engaging internal communications content

Demonstrated record of successfully navigating large-scale organizational changes, leadership transitions, employee engagement initiatives, and corporate integrations

Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex or abstract concepts into engaging, creative communications that break through with employees

Comfortable operating under fast-changing, competing, or abstract priorities, often in direct partnership with company executives

Skilled at navigating complex, matrixed organizations

Direct people management experience

Bachelor’s degree

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
