Position Overview:
As the Director of Enterprise Risk Management, you will integrate risk management, resilience, and performance strategies. You will establish standards and procedures through comprehensive roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and oversee their implementation. You may directly or indirectly manage a team, leading the direction and execution of critical operational, financial, and performance analyses.

Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; master’s degree or relevant professional certifications preferred (e.g., CPA, CFA, CMCE, CRMP, DRCE, ORCE, CISSP, ASA, FSA).
- 8+ years of related experience with program and team management.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management, resilience, and performance strategies on both practical and policy levels.
- Adept at analyzing operational, financial, and performance data to frame issues and solutions.
- Skilled in navigating change positively with teams and individuals.
- Ability to collaborate across all corporate levels, including senior management and external stakeholders.
- Strong conflict resolution, facilitation, and conceptual thinking abilities.
- Expert-level proficiency in risk management and performance management software and tools.
- Advanced skills in analyzing business workflows and process models.
- Collaborative leader with an energetic and proactive approach.
- Exceptional analytical, planning, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to influence the strategic direction of ERM and EPM initiatives.
- Expertise in project and program management disciplines, particularly Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including training capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead risk, resilience, and performance advisory services across business functions to identify required mitigations and performance enhancements.
- Oversee team activities in reporting, analysis, and daily operations, including accounting processes and performance reporting.
- Develop and refine integrated ERM and EPM programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Mentorship and coaching to strengthen capabilities and competencies within the organization.
- Champion positive change management, guiding teams through new operational models.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Unum Group’s operational, financial, and performance functions.
- Enhance program visibility and foster productive cross-functional partnerships.
- Act as a strategic consultant delivering financial, operational, and performance support.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Present findings and analyses to senior management, identifying trends and proactive recommendations.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging risks to assess business impacts.
- Lead annual risk and resilience planning, including Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and performance forecasting.
- Provide leadership in crisis and incident response, aligning with corporate responsibilities.
- Design and execute scenario-based training and assessments to promote preparedness.
- Track risk, resilience, and performance metrics to drive improvements and critical success factors.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness and performance through educational initiatives.
- Empower business units to take ownership of risk management in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Ensure a robust pipeline of diverse talent and leadership for meeting business objectives.
- Participate actively in review boards and committees focused on risk management.
- Perform operational tasks efficiently and provide on-call support as necessary.
