About the Role

Join our innovative and fast-paced FP&A team, dedicated to collaborating with the Executive leaders of Technology and Product. As the Director of FP&A, you will oversee financial planning and performance management for WEX's Technology and Digital divisions. Your role will be critical in driving financial discipline, transparency, and strategic alignment across a diverse and innovative portfolio of investments.

In this position, you will ensure effective resource deployment, balancing innovation, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation. Utilizing a data-driven, forward-thinking approach, you will enhance forecasting accuracy, improve investment visibility, and enable strategic decision-making that supports WEX's growth and digital transformation goals.

Your Impact

Strategic Planning and Financial Execution:

  • Lead the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning for Technology and Digital.
  • Drive insights into key cost factors including headcount, vendor expenses, cloud services, software, and infrastructure.
  • Manage daily operations, including month-end close and quarterly forecasting, while providing support to stakeholders in Technology, Digital, and Operations.
  • Enhance forecasting tools, processes, and systems, including Anaplan and reporting platforms.

Performance Management & Investment Oversight:

  • Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to track financial and operational performance.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, proactively recommending optimization strategies.
  • Align financial performance with operational execution.

Strategic Partnership & Executive Advisory:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CTO, CDO, and senior leadership.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear insights for the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board conversations.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including digital transformation, systems modernization, automation, and investments in AI/ML.

Championing Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and cultivate a high-performing FP&A team that fosters accountability and strong business partnerships.
  • Drive ongoing improvement across FP&A processes, analytics, and reporting capabilities.
  • Promote the adoption of data-driven tools and business intelligence to enhance forecast accuracy and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in analytical and strategic roles, including financial analysis or consulting, with a proven ability to manage complex investment portfolios.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading capital investment planning and making decisions in matrixed organizations, balancing stakeholder needs while supporting corporate growth strategies.
  • Proven skills in building cross-functional partnerships, especially with Commercial Finance, to develop robust revenue models and investment frameworks.
  • Track record of successful navigation and influence in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments, achieving results under pressure.
  • Proficiency or eagerness to enhance expertise in advanced analytical modeling, financial forecasting, and data transformation using tools like Excel, Google Suite, Alteryx, or UIPath.
  • Enthusiasm for leveraging cutting-edge tools, technologies, and methodologies to refine investment decision-making processes; thriving in fast-moving and evolving business contexts.
  • Experience in extracting actionable insights from complex datasets to inform investment strategies, accelerate growth, and optimize capital allocation.
  • A self-motivated and proactive leader with a strong desire for continuous learning and development, focused on expanding business impact while nurturing teams and future leaders.

The salary range for this position is $174,800.00 - $201,400.00, and compensation will be based on your qualifications and skills.
