Role Overview
The FP&A Director - Wealth Management & Commercial Strategy will oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions, while leveraging wealth management expertise to strengthen commercial presentations and strategic initiatives. This role bridges detailed financial modeling with high-level business storytelling, enabling the team to deliver compelling decks for executives, investors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
FP&A Leadership
- Oversees M&A and FP&A activities, aligning financial plans with organizational strategies and goals.
- Leads advanced financial modeling, creates actionable insights
- Directs M&A financial analysis, evaluates risks and opportunities, and ensures seamless integration of acquired entities into budgets, forecasts, and reporting processes.
- Team manager; 40% Leadership/Strategy focus
Wealth Management Integration
- Apply wealth management principles (e.g., client portfolio analysis, asset allocation, risk profiling) to enhance financial modeling and scenario planning
- Use wealth management frameworks to support commercial proposals, client presentations, and investment case studies.
- Integrate client-centric financial narratives into commercial decks to improve engagement and persuasion.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, visually compelling decks for non-financial audiences.
- Ensure decks are data-driven, scenario-based, and tailored to audience needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with department heads to align budgets with business goals
- Work with internal accounting and data teams to ensure accurate reporting and model integrity
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core FP&A Skills
- Strong financial modeling and forecasting abilities, with proficiency in Excel and advanced analytics tools
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
Wealth Management Knowledge
- Understanding of wealth management processes, client portfolio strategies, and financial planning tools.
- Experience applying these concepts to commercial or client-facing contexts.
- Expertise in building persuasive, data-rich decks for executive and client audiences.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in financial modeling and planning.
- Wealth management or client-facing financial services experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent team player with strong communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
- A proactive approach to work, with the ability to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion.
