Position Summary: The Director of Risk at Triton Construction is responsible for overseeing the company’s risk management, safety, and insurance claims operations. This executive role ensures that the organization proactively mitigates risks related to safety, insurance claims, regulatory compliance, and legal exposure. The Director of Risk directly supervises the Corporate Safety Director and the Insurance Claims Manager, ensuring alignment between Triton’s safety programs and claims management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Management Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy.
- Lead risk assessment processes to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential liabilities.
- Provide executive leadership with quarterly risk analysis reports and recommend proactive measures to reduce financial exposure.
- Align risk management policies with industry best practices, NYC DOB, OSHA, and legal requirements.
Safety & Compliance Oversight
- Work with the Corporate Safety Director to enforce company-wide safety policies.
- Ensure Triton remains in good standing with regulatory bodies.
- Monitor regulatory changes and provide updates to executive management.
Claims & Litigation Management
- Oversee the Claims Manager in handling workers’ compensation, general liability, property damage, and subcontractor claims.
- Lead root cause investigations of major incidents.
- Conduct claims review meetings with the Claims Manager, insurance adjusters, and Triton’s executive team.
Contract & Insurance Risk Management
- Review all contracts, subcontracts, and insurance policies to ensure proper risk allocation.
- Oversee OCIP/CCIP insurance programs.
- Work with finance and legal teams to minimize deductibles and negotiate policy terms.
Financial & Executive Reporting
- Develop and track KPIs related to safety performance, claims frequency, and financial reserves.
- Prepare and present annual risk management reports.
Preferred Attributes
