Job Title: Director of Risk Management and Patient Safety - Mount Sinai Hospital - Full Time - Day Shift
The Director for the Risk Management and Patient Safety Department is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the department in collaboration with the Executive Director. This includes the coordination and investigation of Serious Adverse Events (SAE), including potentially reportable incidents to the New York State Department of Health and providing documentation of all related data and facilitates resolution of reported incidents. The Regional Director assumes responsibilities of the departments Exec Director in their absence. Provides oversight over multiple campuses within the MSHS.
Oversight includes proactive and reactive patient safety initiatives; participation in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis, interfacing with defense and in-house counsel, collecting, managing, and analyzing risk management data, conducting risk management and regulatory educational programs, and compliance with risk management-related standards of regulatory agencies.
Lastly, responsibilities include supervision and overall program direction of risk management staff. Formulation, review, and implementation of policies and procedures geared toward risk identification, assessment, reduction, and remediation.
