The Director of Salesforce Engineering is a pivotal technical leadership position responsible for overseeing the architecture, integration, and implementation of Salesforce CRM solutions within Ford Pro's product ecosystem. This role necessitates a blend of extensive technical knowledge in Salesforce and MuleSoft alongside a servant leadership approach to foster collaboration, encourage platform consistency, and ensure that strategic alignment occurs across product groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Architecture & Delivery

  • Develop scalable, secure, and efficient Salesforce CRM solutions that adhere to Salesforce.com Standard Practices and Ford Pro's Common Engineering Policies (CEP), encompassing API standards, logging norms, and release management.
  • Lead MuleSoft integration initiatives to connect Salesforce with both internal and external systems seamlessly.
  • Implement Agile product development methodologies using JIRA to manage project backlogs, sprints, releases, and retrospectives.
  • Evaluate and refine target state architectures through usability testing, performance/load testing, and ongoing improvements.

Servant Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as a facilitator for consensus across various Ford Pro product teams.
  • Guide technical decision-making, team allocations, and transitions throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Encourage transparency and shared accountability through progress reporting tools and objectives and key results (OKR) methodologies.
  • Advocate for Community of Practice (CoP) principles to standardize engineering and product management approaches.

Financial Acquisition & Resource Planning

  • Assist with financial and workforce forecasting through collaborative internal processes and relevant tools.
  • Ensure product investments align with strategic priorities and facilitate efficient allocation of resources.
  • Engage in Tech Council reviews for budget approvals and product lifecycle assessments.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 12+ years of experience with enterprise CRM platforms, including a minimum of 7 years in Salesforce architecture and development.
  • Expertise in Salesforce Platform Architecture (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud).
  • Proficient in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (API design, RAML, connectors, orchestration).
  • Experience with RESTful API design and versioning.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release management, preferably with Copado.
  • Proficiency in logging and monitoring standards in accordance with Ford Pro's CEP.
  • Experience in cloud architecture validation and performance/load testing.
  • Knowledge of usability testing and persona-driven design methodologies.
  • Skills in Git-based source control and repository management.
  • Proficient in: JIRA, Microsoft Teams, Miro.
  • Fluent in: Salesforce Well-Architected Framework.
  • Cloud platform expertise: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar for hybrid and scalable integrations.
  • 3+ years of experience with MuleSoft integration and API-led connectivity.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional technical teams in Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial acquisition and resource planning processes.
  • Ability to lead through influence and foster consensus across diverse teams.
