About Us

Ecomma is a rapidly growing private equity firm with proven expertise in acquiring ecommerce brands worldwide. We excel in a range of areas that drive genuine results and online growth, including:

  • Value Creation: Strategically investing to maximize the potential of our acquired brands.
  • Operational Excellence: Leveraging best practices and a seasoned team to optimize brand operations.
  • Sustainable Growth: Prioritizing long-term success with sustainable practices.
  • Data-driven Marketing Strategies: Using data to tailor marketing campaigns for optimal reach and conversion.

The Role

As a Due Diligence Investment Associate, you will work directly with our Head of Investments in our Dubai office. You will be responsible for conducting financial, operational, and marketing due diligence on e‑commerce stores (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.) after a Letter of Intent (LOI) is signed. You will learn to verify seller data, reconstruct P&L statements, identify risks, and ensure a smooth handover to closing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconstruct monthly P&L statements using seller data, Shopify reports, and ad account spend.
  • Perform COGS audits (sample orders, supplier invoices, shipping costs).
  • Normalize EBITDA by adding back one‑time costs and adjusting for VAT, owner salaries, etc.
  • Identify discrepancies between seller‑provided financials and actual platform data.
  • Review fulfilment models (dropship, 3PL, self‑fulfilment) and validate shipping times.
  • Assess supplier relationships, inventory levels, and stock reports.
  • Verify that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are documented and transferable.

Check ad account health (Meta feedback score, Google Ads history, bans).

Confirm transferability of all marketing assets (pixels, Business Manager, ad accounts, creatives).

  • Review customer reviews (Trustpilot, Judge.me) and flag reputation risks.
  • Identify any ongoing litigation, IP infringements, or trademark issues.
  • Flag products that violate our non‑negotiable criteria (adult, edible, supplements without clean history).
  • Send DD request emails and data room links to sellers.
  • Chase sellers for missing or incorrect documents.
  • Prepare a final DD findings report for the Head of Investments, summarizing risks, adjustments, and a go/no‑go recommendation.

What We Are Looking For

Must‑haves:

  • Experience in finance (e.g., accounting, auditing, financial analysis, investment banking, or corporate finance).
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset – comfortable with spreadsheets, financial statements, and data verification.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (for emailing sellers and writing reports).
  • Ability to work full‑time in our Dubai Production City office and meet tight deadlines (DD typically completed in 7‑10 days per deal).
  • Curiosity about e‑commerce operations and business models.

Nice‑to‑haves:

  • Familiarity with Shopify, Google Ads, Meta Ads, or e‑commerce platforms.

What We Offer

  • Hands‑on experience in private equity due diligence – you will work on live acquisitions, not theoretical exercises.
  • Training in our proprietary AI DD tools, financial reconstruction methods, and risk assessment frameworks.
  • Performance bonus for each due diligence file you complete that leads to a successful acquisition.
  • Path to full‑time employment – top performers will be offered a paid Junior DD Associate role after 3 months (base salary + per‑deal bonus).
  • Direct mentorship from the Head of Investments and exposure to the full acquisition lifecycle.
