Description:

  • Provide daily sustaining support for product lines, including real-time troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, harnessing, software, and firmware issues.
  • Work with design engineers to apply design-for-manufacturing best practices and support the transition from design to prototype to rate production.
  • Partner with the broader production team to solve complex issues and meet customer demand.
  • Write manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements.
  • Develop tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
  • Contribute to mechanical or electrical design efforts, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection.
  • Analyze production metrics to drive continuous improvement in cost reduction, quality improvement, and capacity increases.
  • Help build a culture of innovation, teamwork, and accountability within the manufacturing engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a technical field such as engineering or manufacturing.
  • 1+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or electromechanical hardware design.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership experience with supporting examples.
  • Hands-on experience physically manufacturing hardware through machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, or similar methods.
  • Genuine interest in manufacturing, a strong desire to learn, and a high degree of ownership.
  • U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
  • Experience building production operations from scratch, often with little definition, is preferred.
  • Harness and PCBA fabrication experience, or proven competency in mechanical system design and analysis, is preferred.
  • Ownership of a complex bill of materials for an electromechanical product is preferred.
  • Personal or extracurricular project experience is a plus.
