Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in San José, CA. As an Electrical Controls Engineer specializing in Automation & Motion, you will design, program, and troubleshoot advanced electrical control systems for our precision rotary die-cutting machines, vision inspection systems, and automated packaging lines. Responsibilities include electrical design, PLC/HMI programming, motion control diagnostics, collaborating on system integration, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations (UL/CE) and performance standards.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Electrical Controls and Engineering, with deep hands-on experience in industrial automation and complex multi-axis motion control systems.
  • Proficiency in Electrical Design for custom machinery, with a strong ability to create and read schematics/wiring diagrams (experience with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN is preferred).
  • Advanced programming experience in PLC, HMI, and Servo Motor systems. Strong proficiency in Mitsubishi and/or Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) is highly required. Familiarity with Omron is a significant plus.
  • Experience integrating third-party devices, such as Machine Vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence), sensors, and pneumatics.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and logic issues in high-speed automated systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with US and international safety standards, including UL 508A and CE compliance.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus to facilitate seamless technical communication with our Suzhou R&D headquarters.
  • Experience in the converting, packaging, or medical device manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
